Introducing Eco Mode: A Greener Way to Work in Lizzy
Not every task needs a heavy model. Eco is a new profile that runs everyday legal work on lighter models, using less energy and fewer tokens while staying effective for the routine work that fills most of your day.
Eco mode in Lizzy: everyday tasks on lighter models, less energy and fewer tokens.
Not every task needs the biggest model
AI consumes a lot of energy. The largest models are remarkable, but they are also the most demanding: more computing power, more energy, more tokens for every request. Summarizing a memo, translating a clause, tidying up a draft, these everyday jobs do not need the heaviest model in the stack to be done well. Eco mode is built for exactly that: matching the right size of model to the work in front of you.
What Eco mode is
Eco is a new profile in Lizzy, optimized for cost and speed. Where the default Fusion profile balances quality and effort across the board, Eco leans toward lighter, faster models for tasks that suit them. The name works two ways on purpose: ecological, less energy per request, and economical, fewer tokens and lower cost.
How it works
Eco lives in the model menu, right alongside the default Fusion profile, so switching is a single click.
- Open the model menu in Lizzy.
- You will see two profiles: Fusion (the balanced default) and Eco.
- Select Eco. The pill turns green with a leaf icon, so you always know which profile is active.
There is nothing new to learn and nothing to configure. When a piece of work calls for the default profile, switch back to Fusion just as easily.
Perfect for everyday tasks
Most legal work is not a single high-stakes moment. It is the steady stream of routine tasks around it: summarizing, translating, refining, quick questions. Lighter models can be genuinely effective for this kind of work, and Eco is designed to handle it comfortably. It is not about doing less, it is about right-sizing the model to the task. When a matter needs more, the default Fusion profile is one click away.
Less energy, fewer tokens, a greener choice
Two benefits come straight from running lighter models: less energy per request, which means a smaller footprint for work you were going to do anyway, and fewer tokens, which keeps usage lean and cost down. That fits how Lizzy is meant to work, pay as you grow, with no waste.
The environmental cost of AI is a real and growing concern, much of it from running large models at full power for every request. Eco is one honest step in the other direction. It is not a claim that Eco replaces the heaviest models, or that results are identical. It is a simple idea done well: use the model the task actually needs, and save the rest.
The takeaway
Eco mode is a new way to work with Lizzy that respects both the planet and your budget. It runs everyday tasks on lighter models, using less energy and fewer tokens, while staying effective for routine work. Fusion is still there whenever you want it. Eco is simply the greener, leaner choice for everything in between.
